Default “We’re all speaking the same different language.”

As you read the following prayers, keep in mind that they were all written by different people, living in different times, in different lands and cultures, and in different languages. These prayers are all prayers for peace and offer an interesting perspective into the minds of humans. Despite the words we hang on our beliefs, all humans want essentially the same thing – peace. In fact, peace of mind is probably a better way to put that.

Even those bent on doing violence move in the direction of setting things in order according to their own beliefs. Some people may actually seek peace of mind at the cost of the lives of others. Peace, however, is the common denominator and seems to indicate that all is in its proper place in the universe of our mind. A nation, for instance, probably doesn’t find comfort in the slaying of innocent humans; but if the act was in retaliation for some affront perpetrated against that nation, they may very well find peace of mind in the act of righting a wrong, or vengeance, as some may call it.

We use apparent differences to create and justify such rifts between ourselves – even when no real differences exist. But we can not erase the underlying truth of whom and what we are. When one comes to the realization that “It is only skin…,” this curtain we hang between ourselves and the rest of humankind, then it becomes easier to see the Light within and realize that we truly are one.

When you consider that these prayers were indeed written by so many different cultures, cultures that continuously war against one another, you may find it difficult to reconcile the similarities between the inner thoughts of people that appear to be so outwardly different. Look carefully at the references to celestial and beneficent beings, to light and love, and to the similarities in references to war, separation, suffering, and seeking higher states of awareness to cure these ills of humanity.

Now, compare these concepts and principles to those of your own religious or spiritual belief systems. I believe most people will find more similarities than differences. I have labeled each prayer as to its origin; but try to read these prayers with no consideration given to where they came from and you may see how difficult it is to label truth or beauty with nationalism or discrimination. Try relaxing to achieve the ideal prayer state before reading these prayers; and try to imagine what the people who wrote these words were feeling when they wrote them.

“We’re all speaking the same different language.”

World Peace Prayers:

Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred…let me sow love.
Where there is injury…pardon.
Where there is doubt…faith.
Where there is despair…hope.
Where there is darkness…light.
Where there is sadness…joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled…as to console,
To be understood…as to understand,
To be loved…as to love,
For it is in giving…that we receive,
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
It is in dying…that we are born to eternal life.

Shinto Peace Prayer
Although the people living
across the ocean
surrounding us, I believe,
are all our brothers and sisters,
why are there constant troubles in
this world?
Why do winds and waves rise in the
ocean surrounding us?
I only earnestly wish that the wind will
soon puff away all the clouds which are
hanging over the tops of the mountains.

Hindu Peace Prayer
Oh, God, lead us from the
Unreal to the Real.
Oh, God, lead us from darkness to light.
Oh, God, lead us from death to immortality.
Shanti, Shanti, Shanti unto all.
Oh, Lord God almighty, may there be peace in
celestial regions.
May there be peace on earth.
May the waters be appeasing.
May herbs be wholesome, and may trees and
plants bring peace to all. May all beneficent
beings bring peace to us.
May the Vedic Law propagate peace all
through the world.
May all things be a source of peace to us.
And may thy peace itself, bestow peace on all,
and may that peace come to me also.

Buddhist Peace Prayer
May all beings everywhere plagued
with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending
one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless,
fearful wildernesses –
the children, the aged, the unprotected –
be guarded by beneficent celestials,
and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood.

Zoroastrian Peace Prayer
We pray to God to eradicate all the
misery in the world:
that understanding triumph
over ignorance,
that generosity triumph over indifference,
that trust triumph over contempt, and
that truth triumph over falsehood.

Jewish Peace Prayer
Come, let us go up to the mountain of
the Lord, that we may walk the
paths of the Most High.
And we shall beat our swords into ploughshares,
and our spears into pruning hooks.
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation –
neither shall they learn war any more.
And none shall be afraid, for the mouth of the
Lord of Hosts has spoken.

Sikh Peace Prayer
God adjudges us according
to our deeds,
not the coat that we wear:
that Truth is above everything,
but higher still is truthful living.
Know that we attaineth God when we loveth,
and only that victory
endures in consequences of which no
one is defeated.

Native African Peace Prayer
Almighty God, the Great
Thumb we cannot evade to
tie any knot;
the Roaring Thunder that splits
mighty trees:
the all-seeing Lord up on high who sees
even the footprints of an antelope on
a rock mass here on Earth.
You are the one who does
not hesitate to respond to our call.
You are the cornerstone of peace.

Jainist Peace Prayer
Peace and Universal Love is the essence
of the Gospel preached by all the
Enlightened Ones.
The Lord has preached that equanimity
is the Dharma.
Forgive do I creatures all,
and let all creatures forgive me.
Unto all have I amity, and unto none enmity.
Know that violence is the root cause of
all miseries in the world.
Violence, in fact, is the knot of bondage.
“Do not injure any living being.”
This is the eternal, perennial, and unalterable
way of spiritual life.
A weapon, howsoever powerful it may be,
can always be superseded by a superior one;
but no weapon can, however,
be superior to nonviolence and love.

Native American Peace Prayer
O Great Spirit of our
Ancestors, I raise
my pipe to you.
To your messengers the four winds, and
to Mother Earth who provides
for your children.
Give us the wisdom to teach our children
to love, to respect, and to be kind
to each other so that they may grow
with peace in mind.
Let us learn to share all good things that
you provide for us on the Earth.

Muslim Peace Prayer
In the name of Allah,
the beneficent, the merciful.
Praise be to the Lord of the
Universe who has created us and
made us into tribes and nations.
That we may know each other, not that
we may despise each other.
If the enemy incline towards peace, do
thou also incline towards peace, and
trust God, for the Lord is the one that
heareth and knoweth all things.
And the servants of God,
Most gracious are those who walk on
the Earth in humility, and when we
address them, we say, “PEACE.”

Baha’i Peace Prayer
Be generous in prosperity,
and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in thy judgment,
and guarded in thy speech.
Be a lamp unto those who walk
in darkness, and a home
to the stranger.
Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light
unto the feet of the erring.
Be a breath of life to the body of
humankind, a dew to the soil of
the human heart,
and a fruit upon the tree of humility.

Peace is the only way to peace – in your mind, and in the world.

The number of gods recognized around the world and recorded in world history are in the hundreds. The number of religions, current and past, centered on these gods, is in the thousands. But since this Christian website has been dedicated to the Only One True GOD YHWH - I don't see the connection to the many other false gods. Which YHWH has said is false gods and idol worship.

Jesus Christ must come back because of the present position of Satan. The devil is the most powerful being in all the world, except for GOD Himself. The Bible says that the devil is called "the god of this world."(2Corinthians 4:4)
That means that he's the director of the false religions and philosophies of the world.

There is One who is more powerful than Satan is. This One defeated Satan 2,000 years ago on the cross. Satan suffered his greatest defeat at the cross and in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But the devil is still loose, still in charge of the evil that is in the world: All the injustices, all the wars, all the crime, all the wickedness, all the terrible things, in the world.

There's only One Person in heaven or on earth who can deal with the devil, and He's coming back to throw Satan into the bottomless pit and ultimately into the lake of fire. Then we will be freed from this terrible pull of evil and the satanic power that has controlled the hearts of people for all these centuries.

Jesus Christ will return because of the present chaos in the world--our world is racked with pain, suffering, hunger, war, murder, lust, greed, hate, fraud, corruption. Human governments seems to be unsuccessful in dealing with these problems. The world is becoming more and more helpless and hopeless in this technological age. Many sociologists and scientists believe we have the capability to destroy ourselves. And we can.

But the Scripture says "Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your GOD will come with vengeance, even GOD with a recompense; He will come and save you."(Isaiah 35:4)
Jesus Christ will save us and set up His Kingdom of righteousness and glory and peace and justice. And what a world that's going to be! Will you be ready?

John 17:3 “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

Romans 3:30 “since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.”

1 Corinthians 8:4 “We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one.”

Galatians 3:20 “A mediator, however, does not represent just one party; but God is one.”

Ephesians 4:4-6 “There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

1 Timothy 1:17 “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”

James 2:19 “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”

I John 5:20 “We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Jude 1:25 “to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”
Father - “Paul, an apostle (not sent from men, nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead),” (Gal. 1:1).

“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body,” (John 2:19-21, see also John 10:17-18).

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you,” (Rom. 8:11).

Isaiah 43:10 says, “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.”

Revelation 1:11. Jesus is clearly the Alpha and Omega, who in Revelation 1:8 is defined as the Lord Almighty. Just a couple other examples would be Acts 20:28 and Titus 2:13.

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

A message much like this, “We’re all speaking the same different language.” was the bait I swallowed once, which led me down a dark and lost path in search for truth. Before this, I had just recently heard what GOD's Word said,
"Jesus said to him, I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

But, this message - much like this one, “We’re all speaking the same different language.”

challenged me to question the Word of GOD, I had just recently heard. I found myself being pulled in another direction, taking a close look at all these other godly people and their beliefs, and their gods.
I wish I would have just taken GOD at His Word the first time I heard Him saying,

Jesus said to him, "I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

I must admit that I found it very appealing to escape from the strict doctrine mentioned in the Bible, by following after anything that would contradict it - So I could have one foot in the Gospel and another foot - and both hands - in the philosophies of this world.

This led to nothing but tragic circumstances in my life. And it all started with a subtle message, so very much like this one. “We’re all speaking the same different language.”

For this reason, I feel I am accountable to the LORD, to say something, so as not to risk this message becoming a stumbling block to another person who might have a weak knowledge of the Truth, thus leading them away from GOD's Truth to follow after false philosophies.

The truth is:
They will appear to have a godly life, but they will not let its power change them. Stay away from such people.

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." 2 Timothy 3:5

The Apostle Paul said:
3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
4 For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which we have not preached, you accept it gladly..

5 I consider myself not in the least inferior to the most eminent apostles.
6 But even if I am unskilled in speech, yet I am Not so in knowledge; in fact, in every way we have made this evident to you in all things.

10 As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.
11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

12 But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting.

13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, [some, even] disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

18 Since many boast according to the flesh, I will boast also.
19 For you, being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly.
20 For you tolerate it if anyone enslaves you, anyone devours you, anyone takes advantage of you,
[or if] anyone exalts himself,

28 "......there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches.
29 Who is weak without my being weak? Who is led into sin without my intense concern?
30 If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my weakness.
31 The GOD and Father of the LORD Jesus, He who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.

Default The BLOOD of Jesus Was SHed For All Mankind

There are MANY gods, but there is only One TRUE GOD. None can come to the Father except through His Son, Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross to redeem all of mankind from thier sin. All other "gods" were bourn from the minds of men. All the prayers sound nice, BUT only ONE man went to the cross for ALL of mankind, and His name is Jesus. This is not my "opinion". It is the Word of GOD. It has been established in Heaven and in earth; it is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Any person who ADDS or SUBTRACTS from GOD's Word will face His judgement. We are the Children of GOD. We are NOT...we are NOT...we are NOT...GODS.
Father GOD, In the mighty Name of Jesus we petition for our Friend that You would grant him Revelation and Saving Knowledge of Your Word. Bring the darkness into the light and make the "hidden" things known. Surround him with Your Peace, for we KNOW that genuine Peace comes from one and only one Source and that is YOU. Cover him with Your grace, mercy, and compassion. Open the eyes of his understanding that he may KNOW the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set him free. We love you very much in Christ Jesus, Friend. May GOD's Peace remain with you. Father, let ALL be for Your glory and honour. I exalt Your name and give You thanks for always waking up to a new dawn.

Default Father, Strengthen Me To Proclaim Your Gospel Faithfully

Father, GOD,
You are my Strength and my Shield.
Give me the integrity and the courage
To PROCLAIM the RISEN Lord and His gospel, faithfully.
Help me acquire the perspective of faith when I encounter opposition to Your Word,
So that I may be united with Your SON in His humiliation and suffering for Your greater glory. Amen.
