"The Spiritual Man" - by Watchman Nee

Dear Friends, about a year ago i experienced some perplexing events that left me spiritually all beat up and bruised.... I was entering Spiritual Warfare. Now i have been a christian for a little over 10 years, and aside from a very minor incident, i had not come across such spiritually vicious attack until about a year ago.

Growing up from a presbyterian christian perspective, the topic of SP (spiritual warfare) was like a far away echo, i would hear rumors of it from other christians, but never anything tangible. Thus i mostly grew without any knowledge in this matter.

When i was hit, it felt like a spiritual avalanche go right over me. Tremendously overwhelming. I was not prepared at all.... Now i see why the Lord allowed such shocking experiences. It was to let me know that we are at WAR... and that he expects us to actively engage in this war. He threw me right into this war totally unprepared, so that i would seek to become equiped quickly as possible. And the shock of the experience would serve as a strong incentive for me to seek for answers.

Some of us have not experienced strong demonic posessions or anything like it, and this is why we do not try to understand demonology or anything else in this topic. And yet for those serving the Lord Jesus from a grass roots level, and if we want to become effective in our service it is important to understand the technical details of SP, that is what form or shape they take, and take action accordingly.

For this purpose, i can recommend the book The Spiritual Man, by Watchman Nee. Though it can become a loooong reading, it is quite thorough. The book is Scriptural, as far as i have read. These things evades us from Scriptures until we experience SP for ourselves. Though i also do not agree 100% with Nee's assumptions, nevertheless i do agree to a greater degree. It has helped me to recognize how ever subtly the Adversary attacks those who think to know the Word. I have now become a little better at dealing with SP, yet i am still a novice in the area.

May the Lord Jesus grant us all His revelation.
