Rep Power: 0 | | Does God punish Back in 1984 I got my then girl friend pregnat, well I was very selfish and self centered then and I talked her into an abortion. Well 4 years into another relationship I noticed trouble in walking and in '92 the doctors said it was MS. No one else in my family has this and my present fiance (listed in another thread dying from type 1 diabeties) can't even feel my touch (I'm a quad, curintly in nursing home). Does God punish? I have prayed for a miracle for her (Jeanette) and for both of us. I got baptized 2 years ago and still confess my sins when God helps me to remeber them. I just need God to show me the way to serving Him and would like to have my fiance as my wife instead of just playing house like in my other relationships. Jeanette and I both cried out in prayer long ago for that someone special and God answered our prayers in ways I never dreamed of (Jeanette is very unique). I pray for His guidence, enlightinment, more faith, strenght and for miracles for us.
thank you

If you are able to get a bible and look in the back concordence for the word "hell", you will find other synonyms for the word. GOD is the "Righteous" Judge. GOD "hates" sin. Be most assured that although GOD's love is unconditional and goes beyond the scope of human understanding, at the same time, GOD despises (hates) sin and WILL judge sin. He has endowed the human race with an extremely powerful gift called a "FREE" will. That means you can CHOOSE...to love or hate GOD, to worship or ignore GOD, to pray or not to pray to GOD, to willfully sin or to strive to be holy as GOD is holy; to put GOD 1st above ALL other things, people, circumstances, or put yourself and your desires 1st, i.e., GOD is your personal "Genie in a bottle," shall we say. No other human KNOWS another human being like GOD does. "The WORD of GOD is living and powerful; sharper than any two-edged sword; even unto the breaking asunder of soul and spirit and joints and marrow. It is a discerner of the motives and intents of the heart." So GOD knows your motives before you have plotted them in your mind for whatever reason. When HE loves, we are blessed beyond our own imagination; when HE judges sin...well only GOD can answer that one. However, we are not blind to our own motives, either. We all are acutely aware of our motives even if we are skilled enough to fool all of mankind. As per your prayer request, when we pray, remember to make GOD your central focus. He is #1 above yourself and your circumstances. P S A L M 118 : 17..."I will not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord." P S A L M 103 : 2-5...."You have forgiven all my iniquities; You have healed all my diseases; You have redeemed my life from destruction; You have satisfied my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed as the eagles." Father GOD, in the mighty name of Jesus, we bring to Your rememberance these words and we know that Your love is never ending. We ask Your perfect will be done for both these Friends and that You would grant them supernatural favour. Heal them so that they may bring glory and honour to Your Kingdom. Holy Spirit, we ask that You minister to their spiritual needs...teach, guide, lead, grow, and mature them in Your Word so that they may be mighty Warriors for the lost and destitute. We ask these things of You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Saviour and Redeemer. GOD's Peace be with both of you, Friend. We love you both very much in Christ, Jesus. Remember: GOD 1st! |

God does Punish, but He also FORGIVES AND FORGETS. I think you are saying that because of your past sins, God is punishing you for them. Jesus came into this world not to condemn you but to bring us to SALVATION and HEALING. It is not God's Will for you or Jeanette to be sick. I will be Praying for you both. My Prayer is that he Hand of God will Heal you both and give you Peace and Comfort. God Bless you for asking for Prayer. ODIE

Rep Power: 2 | | Dear tom.milke, what I need to write for you to have a clear understanding may take two pages. This is page one:
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 Jn 1:9)
tom.milke, Are you sure that it isn't you who has Not forgiven your sins? Didn't you have faith in GOD that He had forgiven your sins, when He clearly said that He has?
The most penetrating definition of sin that I'm aware of in Scripture is the last part of Romans 14:23: "Whatsoever is not from faith is sin." The reason it's penetrating is that it goes to the root of all sinful actions and attitudes, namely, the failure to trust GOD.
Anything, absolutely any act or attitude which is owing to a lack of trust in GOD is sin, no matter how moral it may appear to men. GOD looks on the heart.
GOD's word reveals that death, disease and sickness originated with sin and now are being spread by Satan (Rom 5:12-21 - Job 2:6-7 - Lk. 13:16) Think of all those Jesus healed. The Gospels say they were all "oppressed of the Devil" (Acts 10:38) Only when sin is taken out of the human race will there be no more sickness. Until then we pray for the sick to be healed.
Healing is one of the benefits of a relationship with GOD. "Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."
(Ps. 103:2-3).
GOD calls Himself in Scripture "Jehovah Rapha", meaning "I am the LORD who is your healer" (Ex. 15:26)
When Believers agree together things begin to happen. Join with others in agreeing upon your condition, pray one for another, get anointed with oil. (Mark 6:13, James 5:14-16)
Satan's primary objective is to discredit GOD. Spoiling our bodies is one way he operates. Created in the image of GOD we are caught in the middle of this spiritual battleground. Satan "as your enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour"
(1 Peter 5:8).
One of the ways he will devour is with disease and sickness. Our great advantage is that GOD sent His SON to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:3)
The Bible clearly reveals that GOD wills to be the Healer of His people and declares His will to heal all those that obey Him. Christ's works of healing were Not Only to prove His divinity but were a part of His complete mission of fulfilling the will of GOD.
"Here I am, I have come to do your will." (Heb 10:9).
"Many followed Jesus, and he healed all their sick" (Matthew 12:15).
Jesus Himself is a revelation of the will of GOD. He did the will of GOD; He healed all who came to Him. He has an unchanging priesthood; "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (Heb. 13:8)
In Matt. 8:16-17 GOD's Word tells us "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: He took up our infirmities and carried our sicknesses."
Our failures come because of an imperfect understanding of GOD's Word.
GOD's Word declares "My people perish for a lack of knowledge." or another translation says it this way "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge."
"you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32)
Satan continues his harassment and assault on one's life cause he knows their weak areas.
Christ took our sickness and pain, they do not belong to the believer and for a believer to have them is illegal and Christ's death in bearing them means nothing.
(Matt. 1:21, 2 Cor. 5:17-21, 1 John 1:7-9)
The Bible reveals that death, disease and sickness originated with sin and now are being spread by Satan (Rom 5:12-21 Job 2:6-7 Luke 13:16) Think of all those Jesus healed. The Gospels say they were all "oppressed of the Devil" (Acts 10:38) Only when sin is taken out of the human race will there be no more sickness. Until then we pray for the sick to be healed!
At the hands of unbelievers, Jesus our LAMB, was beaten. On His body deep furrows were plowed by the awful Roman lash and it literally tore pieces of flesh from His back. THESE WERE THE STRIPES by which Isaiah and Peter say WE WERE HEALED. And they were laid on His BODY. This was the bearing of our sicknesses and so the provision was made for the healing of our body. Then they nailed Him to the cross and pierced His side. His Blood ran down on the ground "This is my Blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
He shed His Blood on the cross for our salvation from sin, and He bore the stripes on His BODY for our healing from sickness. If you have let Him take your sins, won't you let Him take your sickness? Healing is part of your salvation; do not be cheated out of it any more than you would permit yourself to be cheated out of forgiveness of sins.
In Deut. 28 sickness is a part of the "curse". But Gal. 3:13 declares that "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us".
Sicknesses stated in Deut. 28, Diseases, Fever, Inflammation, Scorching Heat and Drought, Hemorrhoids, The Scab, The Itch, Boils, Tumors, Madness, Blindness, Confusion Of Mind, and many more including all the diseases of Egypt, and as if these were not enough, Verse 61 adds "The LORD will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed". Is there anything left to be uncovered? If you are carrying a disease, you are carrying a part of the curse. This should not be. Deuteronomy 7:15 also states that diseases were put on some who hate GOD.
GOD has set us free from the curse of the law through Christ Jesus Our LORD, for "whosoever will" meet the conditions and believe the Word.
Meet the conditions - include, don't smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, don't drink yourself into liver disease from alcoholism. Don't eat the trask and garbage (dead foods) which polute the human body.
Here is a good place for me to encourage you to buy the book "THE MAKER'S DIET" by Jordan Rubin (Every Christian should have this book & use it -learning how GOD's plan for our health is the best plan of all)
Now to continue - We may say to ourselves "it is not His will", But God is no respecter of persons. His promises are to all. "Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the LORD." (James 5:14). GOD is as willing to heal as He is to forgive sins. The only hindrance in getting the full benefits of Calvary is lack of understanding GOD's Word, or unbelief, and lack of appropriation of the blessing which Christ died to give to all men.
(Isa. 53:4-5; Matt. 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24; James 5:14-16; 3 John 2)
Faith in GOD works. The power of GOD flows through the conduit of faith. Jesus said numerous times, according to your faith, be it unto you. (Matt. 9:29)
(We must be careful that we are not putting our faith in the disease).
The faith that receives from GOD is based upon the knowledge of His will. We cannot definitely take healing by faith, if there is any question whether it is for us. Healing is part of the atonement work of Christ on the cross. We know that not all are saved
(even though it's GOD's will that none should perish)
Because not all appropriate the blessing of Salvation through Faith in Jesus Christ. In the same light, not all appropriate the blessing of Divine Healing because not all HAVE ABSOLUTE FAITH that Jesus desires to heal them. When we have proper knowledge of the will of GOD, we do not pray: "Lord if it be thy will please heal me" for the "if" implies doubt, and doubt cancels faith. We should not pray a useless, unbelieving prayer concerning anything that GOD has promised. If You Truly Feel That It's GOD's Will For You To Be Sick, You Have No Business Going To The Doctor Trying To Get Rid Of The Will Of GOD! The will of GOD is expressed in the Lord's Prayer: "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Is heaven filled with sick people?
Our own will also has a big part in the question of healing. Will we take that which GOD has willed to give us? "If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done for you" (John 15:7). When we know GOD's will for us then we simply need to Ask GOD for it! When our "I will" meets His "I will" the work is done.

Rep Power: 2 | | pg.2).. You have the right and authority to ask healing from GOD when you are a born again Christian (Matt. 13:15) when you are diligently Listening to GOD (Exodus 15:26)when you are attending to GOD's word (Proverbs 4:20-22) and when your faith is unwavering (James 1:6-7). Now don't give up if you don't have enough faith you can get it! Not everyone believes perfectly every time "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD." (Rom. 10:17). Fill yourself with the appropriate word of GOD! If you speak the word of GOD boldly, over and over, you will become a changed person. Your life will become full of GOD's Grace. Begin to confess what GOD says about you and your healing.
Search the Word and collect verses to confess regarding your circumstance. Make it a practice to use these verses on a daily basis to build your faith. Don't read them quietly, but read them aloud! You are building your own faith! Break your silence with GOD's unchanging Word. "The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the Word of Faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is LORD," and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Saved here Literally means Restored to Health!) For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Restored to Health!)" (Rom. 10:8-10). Here are some examples of what to say:
Never confess that I can't...Instead Say:
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. (Phil. 4:13). O LORD, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress (Jer. 16:19).
Never confess that you Lack...Instead Say:
And my GOD will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19)...no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless (Ps. 84:11)
Never confess that you Fear...Instead Say:
GOD did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and a sound mind. (2 Tim. 1:7). The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid. (Ps. 27:1)
Never confess Lack of Faith...Instead Say:
GOD has given to every man the measure of faith. (Rom. 12:3)
Never confess your Weakness...Instead Say:
do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Is. 41:10).
Never again confess Defeat...Instead Say:
Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. (I John 4:4). Thanks be to GOD which always causes us to triumph in Christ. (2 Cor. 2:14). In all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. (Rom. 8:37)
Never again confess Your Sickness...Instead Say:
Jesus...By whose stripes you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24 and Isaiah 53:5). I am the LORD who heals you. (Exodus 15:26). Bless the LORD O my soul...who heals all your diseases. (Ps. 103:1-3). In My name they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:18)
GOD's Word is infused into you by giving voice to it with your own mouth, and this is the language of health to your body. Speak out-loud, that Satan is overcome by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the word of your testimony! (Rev. 12:11). Say that you are washed clean by the Blood of Jesus and that by His stripes you are healed, that curse of sin and sickness does not belong to you. Jesus died to give you life. Choose life! As you win the battle and symptoms disappear, prepare yourself for a possible counter-attack! Satan might not give up easily. He might attack with a pain or an old symptom in the healed area to try and strike fear and doubt in your heart. This will test your faith. It is vital that you do not deny your healing and accept the condition again. Immediately strike back with the word of God. "Resist the Devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7). When you resist the devil he must flee from you! Repeat the faith building verses. The more you speak the Word, the more you believe. It is supernatural medicine bringing faith to your spirit which works and permeates into your physical body.
(Heb. 11:1) tells us that Faith brings the manifestation (substance) or the result (evidence) you are looking for (the things hoped for). A continual affirmation of GOD's Word in faith calls for the healing which is already ours and will build into your immune system a supernatural anointing that is capable of eliminating sickness and disease in your natural body.
Faith is confidence in GOD to work in the affairs of our lives so that only what is best for us happens to us. In the OT and NT an essential (not optional, but an essential) element of faith focuses on what GOD will do for us now and in the age to come. Saving faith is confident not only that GOD has forgiven our sins through the death of Christ, but also that GOD is now at work in the everyday affairs of our lives to do us good. According to Romans 8:32: "HE who did not spare His own SON, but gave Him up for us all, will He not also give us All Things With Him?"
All things means all things that are best for us, including tribulation. Which is why Paul said in Romans 5:3–4, "Let us rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance approvedness, and being approved produces hope." Not only the trials of our faith and trust in GOD and His Word, and His will...
But also, the tribulation Paul speaks of as the suffering we are exposed to in spreading the Gospel of Christ. And the tribulations of being "one of them" Followers of Christ Jesus. Hated, rejected, persecuted, some tortured and/or murdered, or imprisoned, simply because of trust & belief in Jesus Christ, and obeying GOD by spreading the Gospel of Christ.
Saving faith is primarily future oriented. And I don't mean merely heaven-oriented. I mean it is oriented to tomorrow morning and is confident that GOD is going to work that worrisome situation out. Abraham was justified by his faith. He stood clean before GOD. Rom. 4:20 says "He did not doubt the promise of GOD in unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to GOD, being fully convinced that GOD was able to do what He promised."
Saving faith means resting in the promises of GOD. What promises? All the promises, including, GOD works everything together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28) He will follow you with goodness and mercy all your days (Psalm 23:6) He will not leave you or forsake you (Heb. 13:5). Saving faith is confident in the promises and power of GOD. Therefore, it is not anxious about tomorrow but has joy and peace, taking GOD at His Word. So Paul says in Rom. 15:13 "May the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Trusting the GOD of hope gives joy and peace. And the reason it does is because our confident hope is that GOD is at work right now and tomorrow in the everyday affairs of our lives.
Romans 14:23. Sin is anything, any act or any emotion or attitude, that does not sprout from the soil of such confidence in the GOD of hope. "Whatever is not from faith is sin."
The all-pervasive fault in every sin is its character of unbelief. Let there be no confusion here. By unbelief I do not mean a refusal to accept the truths of the Bible. We are not saved by giving mental assent to the promises of GOD. We are saved by whether we hope with our hearts in those promises. The failure of the heart to be confident in the promises of GOD and to rejoice and find pleasure in his provision for the future is the root and essence of all sin. Unbelief is what mainly displeases GOD in every sinful act. As Hebrews 11:6 says, "Without faith it is impossible to please GOD."
And rightly so, because unbelief is a terrible insult. If a friend offers to do you a favor and promises by his honor to see it through, but you decline the offer and say, "No, friend, I've decided I just can't trust you any more,"—if that is your response to his promise, the friendship is over. You have insulted his integrity and robbed him of his honor. And there is just cause for animosity against you to rise in his heart. Moreover, the offensiveness of your insult would increase in direct proportion to the dignity of your friend. In other words, the greater his wisdom and honor and dependability, the uglier and more inexcusable would be the insult of your failure to take him at his word.
Another implication of Romans 14:23 is that we cannot view sin any more merely as breaking the ten commandments or transgressing a list of dos and don'ts. "Everything that is not from faith is sin."
I'll continue next page with a prayer with you...

Rep Power: 2 | | Good Morning, ZephThree!!! Very nice, ZephThree. Barring humility, I just copied all three pages of your answer to our Brother, Mike Milke.(on the 1st try ) Father, in Jesus Mighty Name we ask that you open our Brother's understanding to the Word presented here. Holy Spirit, we ask that you give supernatural wisdom into this Word. As these words are received into his eyes, and as he speaks these words out loud, let his eyes see and his ears have understanding into Your Word, Father. Help him apply these words to his life from day to day so that he and his futute wife may know Your glory. Lead them to the paths of righteousness and help them to become ORACLES of GOD. Create a fire in their spirits causing them to chase after You and to bring souls to Your Kingdom. Brother Mike, if you are reading this, remember to use your VOICE to speak out loud what you read in your bible and whether you know it or not, that Word will sink deep into your spirit. Here's your first try. Say this out loud: He was wounded for my transgression, He was crushed for my iniquities, The chastisement of my peace was upon HIM, And by HIS stripes, I am HEALED! We love you both, Mike. Stay in the Word and it will strengthen the faith you already have. Remember: GOD judges, BUT GOD also forgives and loves with an everlasting love. GOD's Peace be with you, Friend. Let us know what's going on and when you both get married! |

Rep Power: 2 | | LORD Jesus, You are the Great Physician. All healing comes from You. Thank You for caring so much about tom.milke who was diagnosed with M.S.
Thank You for Your healing power, LORD.
Your Word says that healing is Your children's bread. (Mark 7:27)
Your Word says You are the LORD that heals me. (Exodus 15:26)
And by Your stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
That You took [tom.milke's] infirmities and carried [his] sickness. (Matthew 8:17)
And whatever things [tom.milke] desire when [he] pray(s) to believe [he] receives them and shall have them. (Mark 11:24)
Therefore, [tom.milke] recieve your healing now, in any area of physical, emotional, spiritual need. tom.milke believe the LORD is restoring you to health and vitality.
Your Scriptures declare that it is Your will for Your people to walk in health. tom.milke declares that it is Your will for him to walk in health. Because he diligently hearkens to Your voice, and wants to do what is right in Your sight, You have promised that You will put None of these diseases upon him. (Exodus 15:26)
We thank You for this promise, Blessed Redeemer.
(Get the book "THE MAKERS DIET" by Jordan Rubin and use it)
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. (Psalm 103:2) You forgive all my iniquities and You heal all my diseases. (Psalm 103:3) tom.milke ever praises You, LORD, thanking You for forgiving all his iniquities and healing all his diseases. Hallelujah!
tom.milke acknowledges and believes that You redeemed his life from destruction and You crown him with Your lovingkindness and tender mercies. You satisfy his mouth with good things so that his youth is renewed like the eagle's. (Psalms 81:14)
tom.milke confess that it is so good to dwell in the secret place of the Most High GOD, and to abide under Your shadow. You are his refuge and his fortress - his GOD in whom he trusts. You will deliver him from the noisome pestilence. Even though a thousand may fall by his side, and ten thousand at his right hand, it shall not come near him. No evil will befall him; neither shall any plague come near his dwelling. Thank You for giving Your angels charge over him. (Psalm91)
tom.milke confess, believing without wavering, so as not to offend the Gospel of Christ, "You are the LORD who heals me." (Exodus 15:26) "You have sent Your Word to heal me when I am sick" (Psalms 107:20). Jesus You healed everyone who came to You in faith, and the prayer of faith will save the sick and You will raise him up. (James 5:15,16)
Thank You for healing tom.milke and enabling him to walk in health.
You healed the broken in heart and bind up all our wounds. (Psalms 147:3)
You are the Sun of righteousness who rises with healing in Your wings. (Malachi 4:2)
You are the balm of Gilead. (Jeremiah 8:22)
tom.milke places all his hope in You, O GOD Almighty. He shall ever praise You because You are the health of his countenance, and his YHWH! (Psalm 42:11)
We love You LORD Our Righteousness. As tom.milke's love for You flows forth in ministry to the oppressed and needy, You will cause his light to break forth as the morning and his health shall spring forth speedily. Your Glory shall be his rear guard. (Isaiah 58:8)
You have promised to restore health to tom.milke and to heal him of all wounds. (Jeremiah 30:17) You are truely the Great Physician and the giver of all health! Thank You LORD! Amen and Amen

Rep Power: 0 | | Thank you everyone. I will do my best in serving God and praying for others. Will God show me ways in how to serve Him because I don't seem to hear Him. How do/can I pray so that I will hear what He needs me to do. I pray that God will help me and guide me thru this. And yes I will let everyone here know when Jeanette and I get married in Gods presence. I already told Jeanette that "I will stand with her at our wedding and I will dance with her" Thank you God for leading me to this site and God please touch each person here who seeks your help, guidence, your wisdom, your miracles and help the ones who are lost. tom | |
