Rep Power: 0 | | Is there really such a thing? Is there really such a thing as a Jezebel entity? 7 years ago I coordinated a very large youth retreat and for a 20 minute period during the retreat I became weak and dizzy. Two friends prayed over me and I felt better. A few weeks later one of these friends came to me and told me that during the time I had felt ill she had seen a " Jezebel demon hovering over me and it wanted to kill me and seduce eveyone i love if I kept working with the youth and praying for priests. It scared me because I had woken up with a start from a dream a few nights prior and heard the exact same ugly words. My friend gave me a book that talked about a Jezebel spirit .
I mentioned this to our pastor, a long time friend and gave him the book and he said it was just feminism . Now he seems to be very manipulated, even captivated ( only intellectually) by a woman in our parish, who is really isolating him from friends. Her husband left her but before this she told me how much she hated him and that she only stayed with him becuase the pastor could not have a divorced asst She is super smart but controlling and greatly over reacts if things don't go her way. She acts very devout. She has a son who is autistic and I wonder if she may have a touch of this too. Sometimes I feel very sorry for her because she comes to me and seems so sad and alone. She makes me feel guilty, like I am unchristian for distancing myself. I have asked for prayers about this in another thread and in the good responses someone mentioned this Jezebel and I would love to know if it is real and what to do. |

Rep Power: 2 | | If you’re a student of the Old Testament you may remember that Jezebel was the notorious wife of Ahab, king of Israel. Queen Jezebel led King Ahab away from worshipping God to serve the false god Baal. Then, through intimidation and deception, she got Ahab to propagate her idolatrous teaching throughout Israel (1 Kgs 16:31-33; 2 Kgs 9:22).
In the New Testament, Revelation 2:20-23, addressing the Church in Thytiria:
Jesus says, :But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
(Keep in mind, Jezebel was killed about 900 hundreds before this)
So the LORD is talking about a type of person (or spirit) such as that of Jezebel in the Old Testament -because that name had become synonymous with wickedness.
Jesus says that this Jezebel ".... she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray, so that they commit acts of immorality." Also, this Jezebel called herself a prophetess but she did Not serve the LORD. Instead, she misled believers. Generally speaking, in our society, nearly all religions make at least a pretense of teaching the values of marriage, family, and faithfulness. But that is changing. What GOD has called an abomination in His Word, some, even in some sectors of religious community, are now calling normal and holy. That was apparently taking place in the Church at Thyatria as well.
The LORD did not approve of this, He said: "I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality." (Revelation 2:21) This is an important principle, the LORD's judgements are not hasty, He gives time for repentance. But that time has a limit... GOD says that Jezebel will end up on a bed of suffering since her influence has led to the violation of the marriage bed. But she is not the only one who will suffer - so will those who commit adultery with her. (Rev. 2:22-23) It stresses that their deeds of immorality were really the product of her teaching, example, and error.
The result of GOD's looming judgement is then, "all the churches will know that I Am He who searches the minds and hearts."
Jesus closes by stating the biblical principle: "I will give to each of you according to your deeds."
An interesting observation about the church in Ephesus was that it was strong in doctrine but weak in love... whereas, Thytiria was strong in love but weak in doctrine. It's common for churches to be polarized in one of these two extremes. Either they will have full heads and empty hearts, or full hearts and empty minds. Either polarization is deadly. Balance is the key in any church. GOD demands both love and sound doctrine. read 1 Timothy 1:5
Just remember this Jezebel type-'spirit' can imitate anyone - it's about manipulation "witchcraft", one who has to be in control and others must be submissive, under their control. And they have their own self-centered, self-absorbed agendas, they do not have GOD's kingdom in mind. They have there own kingdom in mind. |

My thinking is that the more you ponder on this: "a Jezebel spirit", the more the devil is happy with your confusion. And we know who is the author of confusion -- Satan. I agree with what ZephThree17 says about Jezebel.
Elijah after destroying the prophets of Baal, ran and hid from Jezebel in fear of her. Read 1 Kings 18 & 19. Lot of people try a put a label of her on a lot of things. God Forbid, some people tell others that person looks like Jezebel, if they think they are dressed ungodly. What a terrible thing to say. Jezebel has many labels.
God bless you for your post. I will be Praying for you and your church. God Bless you. ODIE |

I have asked for prayers about this in another thread and in the good responses someone mentioned this Jezebel and I would love to know if it is real and what to do. | Hi, Friend, and Welcome. ZephThree17 gave an extremely accurate account of the "jezebel" spirit. This spirit can be either male OR female...not just female. It's an extremely powerful spirit in that it can influence "key" people in strategic positions in the church e.g., Pastor, Worship Leaders, Heads of the Women's Ministry....they are fixated on the "power" that they can use "through" the person in High position. They really are intelligent and the enemy works through this person because of that very reason. To come against this spirit, which is an ancient one, the "blood'' of Jesus, the power and authority given to us by Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit must come together in alignment with a number of Intercessors. The lady who said she saw the spirit, she very well may have as she described it perfectly. The enemy would also have you DISBELIEVE that there is such a thing as he would also LOVE it if you did NOT believe in GOD, the Son of GOD, the Holy Spirit, or even the devil, himself. They all exist and it is is the Word of GOD, GOD being the Divine Author. The bible is GOD's revelation of Himself to mankind. Unbelief, the bible warns, is a sin against GOD. Father, in Jesus name, we ask for revelation and saving knowledge in this Friend. We ask that you increase discernment of the enemy in his camp. Send Your Warring Angels round about to keep this one safe. We plead the blood of Jesus from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet. Grant Your divine Wisdom as he learns and knows more each day about who You are. We ask in Your name, believing it is done. Amen! |

| | | The more I think about this the more concerned I get. I hope you are not labeling this woman with an autistic son a jezebel because she can be obnoxious or irritating to you. Autism is a very difficult thing to live with. How can you see inside her heart whether or not she is devout? Maybe the pastor is completely innocent (you said he seemed interested intellectually) and he has other reasons he speaks to her a lot like for some political church reason like tithing or something else. I am not saying these things to knock you I just hope that you may be wrong and I guess it depends on the denomination you are part of as far as the other woman that said she saw a jezabel spirit over your head.
p.s. I am sure she is sad and alone that is part of being a parent of a child with autism-not to mention being divorced. She probably talks a lot to the pastor because she is and maybe he knows this also. |

It's a well known fact that Albert Einstein failed in high school because they thought he was mentally challenged. When people haven't read and/or are too bored to even research something they don't understand, it's very natural to perceive some- thing as "goofy". People that really do understand and know what something (whatever the subject matter) means are not phased by this because its so frequent that you would be safe to say it's normal. I find it very intiguing that you find it goofy. |

GOD is incapable of lying, but it is natural for man to lie when it comes to SELF-Preservation. The Word tells us that, "Deep within the heart of men lies 'wickedness'". It also reveals that no man KNOWS the motives or intentions of another human being but GOD, Himself, because what a man speaks with his mouth isn't necessarily what is in his heart. For example: A married woman may have been having a year long affair with her husbands best friend. Perhaps husband notices a marked difference in her behaviour toward him and says, "You never tell me you love me anymore." Well, to throw him off track, perhaps she feels she had better "pacify" him and tell him she loves him even though she is really sleeping with his best friend behind his back. "The Word of GOD is living and powerful, sharper than any 2 edged sword even unto the breaking apart of the soul and spirit and the joints and the marrow. It is a discernor of the intents (thoughts) and motives of a man's heart...Hebrews 4:12. No person can gauge the truth from merely weighing the "words" of a person because all of us are human. As for being concerned about the person you thought we were talking about, rest in GOD's Peace that GOD Himself sees, knows, hears, and understands my own motives. He is my only Judge. This site is here to learn from everyone one else visiting or staying here, as well as to encourage, teach, and edify anyone who needs it. We stand in judgement of no one and we give scripture for you to expound on your own knowledge. Whatever you don't understand as far as the subject matter of a "Jezebel" spirit, you can google. As far as the person you are concerned about, that is not between anybody but herself and GOD Himself because Romans 2:1 tells us..."If you think you can JUDGE others, you are wrong. When you JUDGE them, you are really judging yourself GUILTY, because you do the same things they do."
May GOD's blessings richly overflow you and your loved ones and Father, in Jesus name, we petition You, Holy Spirit, to grant this Friend supernatural favour and wisdom. Bless her with revelation and saving knowledge. In Your Holy name we pray. Amen and Amen. |

| | | I guess I felt the other person was being judgemental-My brother is autistic and it is very difficult. People are constantly judging you. I googled the jezebel spirit and I am sorry for being offensive to those beleive that it is a literal demon woman. I personally beleive it is meant in a different way in revelations. I am sure many could argue this all day. The point I was trying to make ,without using God as a club, is that I am so afraid that person that posted this may be looking at her as an evil woman trying to wreck the church in some way-I doubt this is the case. | |
