Smile Gingerbread Men/Cookies

I noticed the new, " Holiday Recipes " so I thought it would be nice to share this classic gingerbread recipe with you all. This recipe takes only about 25-30 minutes, including prep time and how fast some people can cook but you will need to let the dough chill for at least two hours or so.
First you will need to get together the following ingredients: One egg, One cup melted butter (Try putting it in a bowl and in the microwave long enough so it is easy to mix.) One and a half cups of Sugar ( I recommend using white sugar with this. ) Two tablespoons Corn Syrup ( dark corn syrup ), One and a half tablespoons of Orange Zest, Flour (3 cups ), Ginger ( one teaspoon ), Baking soda ( two teaspoons ), Cinnamon ( two or so teaspoons ), one half teaspoon of Salt, and last but not least One Half teaspoon of Ground Cloves.

After you have all these ingredients, make sure you preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, while you are preparing your Gingerbread dough and you will need to grease the baking sheet as well, so they do not stick.

Mix the melted Butter with the 1-1/2 Cups of Sugar throughly, then adding the egg. After that all you need to do is Mix all ingredients together until they are blended and mixed completely. You can either let the dough chill over night or you will need to let it chill for two hours.

When dough is ready, make sure you roll it out on a area with a small amount of flour over it. Make sure that the dough is about 1/4 in thickness before cutting.

Now you can use cookie cutters, or any other way or shape you would like to make your gingerbread into, then putting in the over for about ten to twelve minutes ( I would check at ten minutes ), and then decorate with frosting or whatever way you please. This is a great recipe for this time of year, even as a present. Hope you enjoy this recipe I found a while ago, and God Bless

That is a good gift idea, especially at this time, and gingerbread is a Holiday thing in a way..and I might have to try that this year, I have never made them before. I continue to send my blessings and prayers to all, Be back soon

Post I love gingerbread~gifts

I love gingerbread cookies, they're so good and that is a good gift idea. Last year for Christmas I made cup cakes that looked like snow balls and brought them to my old work for everyone, they loved it. Food is always good, as a gift or just for you, I love cooking new things, thanks for the recipes and new ideas. Blessings to all I like the new recipe section, when I get a chance I will get one from my grandmother and post it on here, she keeps all her recipes in a book and I know they are all good.
