But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatsoever is not from faith is sin."
(Romans 14:23)
"The righteous will live by faith."
(Galations 3:11)
"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for,
'The just shall live by faith."
Does faith in Christ mean just mental ascent or does it go deeper than just surface level?
IT goes way beyond just an acknowledgement of the historical facts of Jesus' life.
Faith means to believe God's words.
Jesus said;
"He that hears My words."
We must believe the Holy Scriptures for
they are the words of God to men.
.
"Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing the word of God."
Romans 10:17
"Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for whoever comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."
Faith becomes the foundation upon which we build a relationship with God.
After Jesus was raised from the dead,
His disciples recalled what He had said.
Then they believed the Scriptures and
the words that Jesus had spoken."
- John 2:22
"Now when He was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast [day],
many believed in His name, when they saw the miracles which He did."
John 2:23
