Faith vs Assumption

Is there a difference in assuming God is going to or will answer our prayers vs having faith that He is going to or will answer our prayers. I do not know. Is there a danger in just assuming that God will answer our prayers? Does God answer a prayer more if you pray more about it, or is once good enough, here goes the whole faith vs assumption again. I do not know, just more stuff going through my brain as I wait on Human Resources to call me.
