Dearest Tonyia, sometimes God does not answer our prayers because He wants us to learn something He feels is important about the way we relate to Him. And until we obey and go in the direction He wants us to, He may withhold from answering certain prayers.
It is so funny that i have heard recently from this wonderful christian woman who was in your same situation as she first became christian.... and she told me that what she believes turned everything around is when she somehow made up her mind that she was going to serve Jesus no matter what happened. And nothing was going right for her at that moment - in fact she was loosing her appartment that day because she could not pay rent for several months. In fact Nora told me that things went from bad to worse as she first became Christian. When in the midst of her worst troubles she made that resolve, she made a complete surrender. From that moment her husband then became completely recovered and never touched one drop of alcohol nor gambled.
I do not say that this may happen to you, yet the best thing you can do is to blindly trust Jesus and surrender yourself to Him. We must love Him not for what He will do or not do for us from now on, but rather for what He already did: Died a hateful and cruel death for your and my sins because of us.
Please read Isaiah 58, perhaps there is a key there for you to help you see how your prayers can become more effective.
Your problems are huge.... huge to us.... i have seen Him work miracles time and again.... and to Him it is not so huge. I know you feel so inadequate.... but that is the whole point i believe. We feel inadequate because we are, and then we should turn to God and not to people for true restoration of our lives. Because people are so unable... but God is able.
Inspite your own fears, choose today to trust in Jesus.
