Dear Robin, i have prayed on your behalf.

How much of yourself and your possessions are you willing to surrender to Jesus and to obey Him if this meant your daughter's wellbeing? Frequently the wellbeing of our loved ones is directly linked to our walk with the Lord.

I learned this with my husband. Early on i tried to exclusively care for my husband, as a newly wed wife .... and it started to become a co-dependency problem that i could hardly handle. Then i decided to do a 180 and serve God more actively first and foremost and draw closer to Him, without neglecting my marriage, but it did not mean that i did everything my husband wanted me to. I only served my husband to the extent that it was sufficient in God's sight. It was hard for me. And my husband frequently reminded me that i "abandon" him. And 4 years later, i did not make a mistake in this change of course. First, God had told me early on that the wellbeing of my marriage was totally dependent on me, on my serving Him.

I want to encourage you Robin, to strengthen your relationship with God further, love Jesus, by being active in serving Him through serving those who are in TRUE need. Be willing to do foolish, awkward, un-cool things for His kingdom. Make it a proactive thing to gracefully bring Jesus into the lives of those who you meet and know. Do go to a church which is filled with God's presence regularly, be involved in corporate intercessory prayer locally, study scriptures diligently and consistently and in an organized fashion, pray continually. Use your financial resources for ministries that touch both tangible and spiritual needs of those in deepest needs. (All of this is based on Isaiah 58 - i encourage you to read it). Do not be ashamed to love Jesus with your heart and mind.
