You have taken the greatest step already! It's written all over the Bible:

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; those who seek find; and to those who knock, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; those who seek find; and to those who knock, the door will be opened." Luke 11:9-10

The righteous prayer is a great way to confess your sins to the Lord.

Dear Heavenly and Caring Father,
We first would like to thank you for the gift of prayer, and the promise that you hear us. We come to you in prayer bringing our shame, worries, and anxieties to you Lord. We lay them at your feet, one-by-one, in exchange for the joy of Your glorious Name. Lord, please fill our hearts and minds with the holy spirit so that we can follow Your path - the righteous path. You are the caring, merciful, just God, and for that we thank you so much! Thank you for all the blessings we have received. May you light our paths, forgive our sins as we confess those that we know - but please forgive us for the sins we are not aware of, and fill our hearts with fresh mercy so we can follow Your word. In Your Holy Name of Jesus Christ, We pray. Amen.
